P-Day at the Mission Home

A nice thing about missionaries coming by the Mission Home is that they
so enjoy playing the piano.  I love having piano music in the house!
A sister with many talents, she freely shares her skills of haircutting on P-day.

The space in the back yard allows for some games.
Where did that flying thingy go?
One cheering for her companion, one waiting for a haircut.
Such darling missionaries!

There are several of these beautiful trees in our neighborhood.
They bloom before there are any leaves.

Interviews Going Forward

In spite of the Hattiesburg tornado and all the destruction it caused, the interviews continued on.

He does know how to smile.  So handsome!

The hit of the day was a treat made and brought by Sister Wier.

It was awesome to be there while they were organizing for cleanup.  They said they learned a lot from Hurricane Katrina.  By the next day after the tornado, the path of the tornado was mapped, zones divided, fliers printed, a website set up.  All impressively put in place to facilitate the clean up efforts.

Tornado in Hattiesburg

We headed south for the rest of the interviews with the missionaries on Monday, February 11, 2013.  The Sunday afternoon before, a big tornado bounced through Hattiesburg.  It didn't damage the Hattiesburg Stake Center where we had planned to meet with the missionaries, but it caused roads leading there to be impassible.  We headed to the Petal Ward building and took these pictures along the way.  All of the missionaries were safe and well....and eager to help with clean-up!

These are not small trees.

The bent tree is not a small tree either.

The West and Jackson Interviews Completed

Interviews throughout the western part of our mission are now complete and we will be starting the southern part of the mission this coming week.  These are long days, but a lot of fun.  The President works hard and keeps a lot of things running as he goes, and as he receives information and keeps communications going with the Missionary Department.  Even under the pressures he faces,
he loves these missionaries with all his heart.  I think they know it too.

Interviews February 2013

We get to visit all the missionaries at Church buildings in their Zones.
We have very handsome elders and beautiful sisters.
Wonderful, marvelous missionaries!

This is Great-grandson, Grandson, and Grandpa in missionary genealogy.

See how they've grown and matured?
Oh, how we love these guys!

Maps are valuable and important as we open new areas.
