What happens at Mission Leadership Council?
We start with Sister Training Leaders and lunch. The discussion begins with someones favorite scripture and why it's a favorite and what it teaches. That's pretty powerful!
1 Corinthians 9:24
"Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize?
So run, that ye may obtain."
As a person runs distance, there is a time that fatigue seems insurmountable and quitting seems like a probable option, when a runner hits "the wall."
But runners push through the desire to quit and they keep picking up and putting down their
heavy feet until they surpass the fatigue.
The reward is the runner's high. They feel like they can go on indefinitely.
Liken this to missionary work.
"So run, that ye may obtain."
All of Mission Leadership Council comes for dinner and after meets together while
President McDonough interviews each companionship.
The Assistants ask about changes that have happened since and because of the last MLC.
It was a powerful, Spirit-filled MLC.
The Savior had a clear idea of His purpose at all times.
Having a clear vision of your purpose allows you to use your time wisely.
The Law of Sacrifice is giving up things you really enjoy.
Sacrifice
sleeping past 6:30 AM, laziness, most music, disobedience
to get the Spirit a little more into your day.
It's worth it.
THIRTY-THREE
We can do this!
